A night out on the town in New Braunfels for dinner, drinks and a movie would usually involve two or three separate stops, but not anymore.
The Alamo Drafthouse is making New Braunfels home to its newest theater (in the old Marketplace Theater location) with cold beer, hot movies, and delicious meals and snacks all under one roof.
Co-owner Brandon Arceneaux says the number one priority is delivering an incredible experience to guests, an experience he feels has been lost in their industry.
"Our attention to detail in film presentation and programming has made us a second home to movie fans all over the planet and earned accolades from the likes of Entertainment Weekly (#1 Theater in America), Wired.com (Coolest Theater in the World) and Fandango.com (One of the Best Theaters in the Country)," he says.
With a commitment to innovation, programming includes signature events you won't find anywhere else. Break the strict "no talking" policy by yelling out your favorite lines at one of the "Quote-Along" events or publicly mock the movie in progress by texting your best line (which shows up on screen) at HeckleVision. If that isn't cool enough, there's even Sing-Along & Dance parties.
Their superior programming is matched by superior food and drinks you won't find at other local theaters. Think past your typical canned nacho cheese to Hatch green chile queso blanco.
"We are known for our pizzas," Arceneaux says. "We make a lot of our menu in-house from fresh ingredients daily. We make the dough every morning and our own salsa. It's a high-quality menu."
Don't forget the drinks. Whether you prefer beer, wine or a classic cocktail, you'll find what you're looking for. The Glass Half Full Taproom offers 32 beers on tap, including some from local breweries. The menu even celebrates the season and recent releases with matching themes, like the Ron Burgundy Sour to coincide with the "Anchorman 2" premiere. Or how about a candy cane shake and spiced apple turnover for the holidays?
A destination ripe with tradition and entertainment, Arceneaux and Co-owner Chris Hoegemeyer knew New Braunfels was the perfect spot for Alamo Drafthouse's newest location. "We are beyond excited to be a part of the New Braunfels community," Arceneaux says. "Bringing the concept to this area was a perfect fit for us, and something we're looking forward to. We hope to be a premiere destination for the area."
Opening day is scheduled for December 20. To that we say, "Welcome to New Braunfels! Now hand us the menu!"
