Here is the dilemma: You have found a secret jewel in New Braunfels. Too good to be true. Everything you are looking for and more. Do you tell anyone? If word gets around then maybe everyone will flock there and it wont be 'special' anymore. Hmmmm... What to do? What to do?
The kicker is that lots of people already know about this place. In the corporate world it is well known. Lauded, even. "Your employees always know exactly what we want," they're told. Well, maybe they know exactly what you want, too.
Let's start with an 80-room hotel plus 6 couples-only Sunday Houses and 12 family sized condos for rent. For the adventurous types: some swimming pools, tennis courts, a putting green, rock-climbing wall and, ok, a ropes course. For quieter folk: scenic views, movies under the stars, a massage. Begin the day with a free breakfast at the Lonestar Grill and end it with Smores Before You Snore.
"We are a hidden gem," says Martha Jaramillo of T Bar M Resort and Conference Center. "You come off of the busy highway and immediately feel far, far away."
Oops. The cat is out of the bag now. T Bar M. You have seen the signs, but may have understandably mistaken it for the tennis ranch next door or T Bar M Summer Camps that share the same property. 'Property' is such an urban word. 160-acre ranch on the edge of New Braunfels in the Texas Hill Country is a better description. From the exposed beams in the Chuckwagon Dining Room to the expertly lighted gnarled oaks, T Bar M is authentic Texas rural chic.
Their themed hotel packages speak Texan, too: Comal River Adventure, Historic Gruene Package, Canyon Trail Chuckwagon. Some German influences as well: Schlitterbahn and Wurstfest Packages. And the purely practical: Family Fun Pack, Romance Package, Ladies Get-A-Way. Face it; our world could use many, many more practical options. Practical + Fun = Perfect.
General Manager Mike Edge points out that during the summer months leisure business is the main focus at T Bar M. Come fall they make a metamorphic transformation to nine months of group oriented business. 12,000 square feet of meeting place and a kitchen that can serve 900 meals makes this feat possible. A new restaurant and hotel wing are in the works. From massage therapists to airline employees to car enthusiasts, Edge has seen it all. A baseball field of Corvairs and early Fords is surely a sight to behold.
T Bar M is unique, and that is part of its mystique. But there is no mystery here anymore. The secret is out: T Bar M is everything you want.
