Everything old is new again.

Early this morning, Ryan Adams released the video for "Gimme Something Good," the first single off his forthcoming self-titled album which is due for a September 9th release.

The VHS-esque video directed by Micheal Reich (who has worked with Daft Punk and directed most of the videos for one of my recent indie faves - Yuck), is filmed mostly in black and white (and when paired with Adam's facial expressions surely does seem to be a nod to the video that accompanied Danzig's "Mother") also features the one and only Elvira.

As Reich's visuals call back to an earlier time of music videos, so too does Adams on structure and style of this Jackson Browne inspired tune. The upcoming 12th album in his solo career may be a sign of Adams' returns to his roots, as this single eximplifies one of the finer qualities I personally came to enjoy of Ryan during the time of his 2003 album Rock n Roll - his electric guitar tones.

Check out the video, and accompanying guitar tones, below, and cross your fingers for a Ryan Adams tour stop in Texas, as no dates in the state have yet to be booked.
